DRINK THE FAIRY
DO IT BITCH ...I mean: this is lovely! Sweeet coloring. The only problem I can see is maybe his left hand is a bit too small. Also, its position is kind of strange, for holding a tea saucer? I just tried holding my tablet like a plate and my hand looked different and a bit more natural. but guuuh UK looks mighty FIIINE in this. ;_; The details, like the shiny buttons and the strands in his hair, are great. keep it up <33 -- Alis volat propriis! |

I would also recommend more details on his hair, like the back part where the shadow is. Just because there is shadow doesn't mean there isn't any definition there. Also be careful of the darker shadows because you can lose detail even if you have it drawn in. The character's left shoulder, where the seam should be, I can see it but it's difficult to make out. Try pronouncing it more possibly by making some of the shadowing darker on the torso side of the seam.
I also like his hands but I feel as though they are just a tad bit too small. They're very close to right proportions for your style but here they seem smaller than they should though I didn't notice until I took a closer look.
And the shirt he's wearing beneath his vest and jacket, I think that ruffled part needs more detailed shadowing even if those fairies are emitting light. It almost seems to get lost in the highlights. Even though I know what's supposed to be going on there in the details you need to accentuate it more.
I hope this helps you. ^^
The thumbnail of this looks EXCELLENT. You've got a great grasp of how the light falls on the clothing. The hat, also, is done pretty well, and hats (at least for me) are notoriously tricky. An overall closer inspection, however, reveals a couple structural flaws. The arm closer to the viewer (his left, viewer's right) is conspicuously shorter than the other; even accounting for foreshortening, the anatomy itself would have to be malformed for the overall shape of the clothed arm to look like that.
The shape of the torso is good all the way up, but the way the fabric reacts isn't consistent; you obviously want it to crinkle up at the joints, but bear in mind the vest would be a lighter material than the coat, and would crease more in response to the junction between waist and hips.
His right (our left) arm is also a little problematic. Without somthing to support it, it looks stiff in this position. The hand pose seems a little attenuated as well. Try to make this pose with your own hand holding a cup; it's a bit unnatural, and to make it look more real, we'd need to see more of the fronts of the fingers, and the hand would need to be in a (more difficult) foreshortened perspective.
Finally (and on a different note) you may want to make the "full view" of this smaller. The only reason for this is because the piece improves a lot with distance. Close up, it's very easy to see the sketchiness of the lines which, while certainly not a bad thing on their own, run at odds with the smooth color and shading work. The hair is so detailed it looks to me like you want it to look smooth and luminous, and the close-up view where you see all the lines detracts from it.
Overall, though, this is a really successful piece conceptually and design-wise. Plus, he's hot. You get points just for that. Cheers.
